Woolwich Township’s three largest settlements are Elmira, St. Jacobs and Breslau, where the Region of Waterloo International Airport is located.

Home to the heart of Old Order Mennonite Country, throughout the years the Township of Woolwich has maintained much of its old-world charm.

Quaint villages with boutiques and restaurants can be found surrounded by lush farmland and Mennonite settlements, with roads shared by both motor vehicles and traditional horse and buggies.

Wilmot Township

The Township of Wilmot is located along the banks of the Nith River. More than half of Wilmot’s total population live in the rapidly growing towns of New Hamburg and Baden.

The Township is made up of rolling farmland, quaint villages and growing towns and provides the best of rural and urban living.

Along with the Amish settlers who came for the rich farmland, the township also attracted immigrants who were tradesmen and artisans and has many historical and fascinating tourist destinations.

Wellesley Township

The Township of Wellesley is located within a 20-minute drive of the cities of Kitchener and Waterloo and made up of several distinct communities.

A predominately rural farming area, it also includes many small businesses in addition to the traditional roadside/honour produce and floral stands, quilts and handcrafted furniture.

The first settlers to the area came from a variety of racial and religious backgrounds, including a significant number of freed or escaped slaves from the United States.
